Hi! I’m Rachel, the writer behind this blog.
I am very outspoken and not afraid to speak my mind. My goal here is to discuss and share my thoughts a various topics given my rawest outlook on the topic. Anything from personal experiences, marriage, Judaism, modesty, mental health and more is what you can find on this blog.
I’m 23 years old and just graduated with my BA in psychology from CUNY Queens College. I am now pursuing my interpreters certification in American Sign Language (ASL). My goal for taking my career in the direction of ASL is to help bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf communities. As well as help families learn ASL so they can better communicate with family members who are challenged both with a lack of hearing and ability to verbally communicate.
I’ve been married to my Husband for 2 years now. I’ve known Him since I was 8 years old. Seeing the way we’ve both evolved over the years is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever gotten.
My life story is a long one, even though 23 years of life isn’t really long at all. I was born in Jacksonville, FL. I was adopted from birth by incredible parents who always gave me much more than I needed. I grew up with my parents and older Sister in Queens, NY and when I was 8 we moved into a wonderful neighborhood, North Woodmere, NY.
I was raised with Torah values and always encouraged to be my best. I went to Y.C.Q for elementary school, SKA for High School, and Baer Miriam for my gap year in Israel.
I love connecting with people. I love dogs & pretty much most animals. I love Pole Dancing and losing myself in my music. I love writing my pain away. My family and friends are my world. I love learning new things. I love breaking down stigmas and discussing taboo topics. I love baking challah. I love feedback on my work.
There is so much more to me and my story, I hope to give you a good idea of who I am and where I’ve been through this blog.
